A Tour of Harmony
A modern community in a rural area
Harmony is an interesting place, located in a remote section of east Highway 192. In fact, it’s closer to Melbourne on the east cost of Florida than Downtown Orlando. Downtown Orlando is anywhere from a 50-60 minute drive. However, there are several routes to take to get to the heart of Orlando.
Harmony is located about 30 minutes to Disney and 30 minutes to I-95. Melbourne beaches are less than 40 minutes and only 25 minutes to Orlando International. It is only 10 minute drive to St. Cloud with all it’s commercial retail, restaurants, and hospital.
The concept: Natural. Peaceful. Convenient.
Harmony originally started in 2001 and will be built out to 7,000 homes on about 11,000 acres.
Right now the population of homes is about 1,000. This is a master planned community and reminds me of Avalon Park in style, just much quieter with more amenities. The community name is intended for the residents to live in Harmony with nature. There are 2 huge lakes, Buck Lake (511 Acres) and Cat Lake (430 Acres) that allow only low motorized boats offered through the HOA. This has been designated as a Bird Sanctuary.
Residents can enjoy nature through 12.5 miles of trails, boating on it’s lake, wildlife viewing, lakefront docks, and it’s location of low density of the surrounding areas. In fact, there is designated conservation areas on the perimeters of the community. 70% of this community will be retained untouched conservation and 30% will be homes.
Can you believe Harmony has it own town center with a central park! They have a grocery store which is actually well stocked considering the size of the community. Along with restaurants, salon, physician office, and Harmony Welcome Center. The Golf Clubhouse, pool, restaurant, and fitness center is there too. Publix and Walgreens, are within a 7 minute drive and Super Walmart a 10 minute drive.
Surprisingly, this community offers alot of amenities. Two swimming pools, splash pad, volleyball, basketball, community gardens, activity calendar, two dog parks, equestrian center, fishing, and FREE boating for all its residents. You just have to reserve a boat.
The onsite fitness center is $35 per month for individual or $60 per month for family.
You can use the tennis courts, and jogging track at the highschool across the street. They have an underground tunnel from Harmony to Harmony Highschool for residents and students to safely access.
The HOA monthly fee here is very low. The amenities are paid through the CDD fee which is paid through your taxes.
