Gatlin Gardens – Orlando’s Best High School Neighborhood

Located just north of the Orlando International Airport is a small community called Gatlin Gardens. Just off of Gatlin Ave, across the street from Barber Park and Lake George, Gatlin Gardens is a non-gated enclave of homes built in the 1990s.

One of the best things about this community is they are located in the sought after school district of Boone High school. This high school receives the 8 10 by great schools.org and is often a favorite for many families with school age children. The Lake George Elementary and Shenandoah Elementary also are close by and received high marks as well. The Conway middle school receives a 7 out of 10 located on Anderson Road, less than a mile away. For private schools is the Cornerstone Academy Charter which is about 3 miles away and the high school, also boasting a high score.

 

This community is a good mix of single and two-story homes with two or three garages is typically priced from $320,000-$490,000. Most layouts are between three and five bedrooms with two or three bathrooms and between 2530 500 ft.².Gatlin Gardens does have a homeowners association but with low homeowners dues of less than $30 per month, this basically covers management and general association fees.

 

Because these homes were built in the 1990s, many have seen numerous upgrades over the last 20 years. Some may have granite countertops or quartz, high-end master bathrooms, master suites, double closets, dual vanities, open family rooms an open concept design and layouts.

 

The road leading into this community does and with the cul-de-sac so there are no through streets through Gatlin Gardens making it a safer place for walking, biking, and kids playing in the streets. Barber Park, crossed Gatlin Avenue, offers a dog run, picnic facilities, a hockey rink, skate park, sports fields and green space against Lake George. Just a couple of minutes away only 15 are shops, restaurants, markets and grocery stores and to the east is a neighborhood Walmart, Dollar tree, medical facilities, banks and public storage. The post office is also on the corner of Gatlin Avenue and South Semoran Boulevard.
