Outdated shopping centers are being remodeled. Every town and municipality is getting a face lift. New town centers are being created, with more entertainment venues being added. Much needed infrastructure is expanding or being renovated.

It simply amazes me to see the tremendous revitalization of commercial projects. Futhermore, it will be even more exciting to be living in Orlando within the next 5 years.

Orlando International Airport is undergoing $3.1 billion capital improvement project. The most exciting part is the South Terminal which will accomodate the SunBrightline Train Part of Many Commercial Projectsrail, Brightline, and possible train going to International Drive. The Sunrail is Orlando’s local train. Brightline train connects Orlando Airport to South Florida airports.

Other improvements include expanding terminal at gates 70-99, replace trains, adding people mover to connect North and South Terminals. Features to improve the passenger experience are new ticket counters, better baggage system, and larger Customs and Border Protection.

East Orlando

East Highway 50 has been expanded to six lanes or more.

Good news for east Orlando drivers…The 408 Expressway highway extension will be ready early 2022, which eliminates the gridlock on east Highway 50. This 8 mile road will connect to Highway 520. The new toll road makes the commute for east Orlando residents easier.

With new highways always comes more home developments. The Grow home development is building 2,100 new homes.

Lake Mary

Lake Mary is building a $200 million mixed use development at the corner of Lake Mary Blvd and Longwood Lake Mary Road. This upscale retail area called Griffin Farm Town Center will have a specialty grocery store, fitness center, Dunkin Donuts, restaurants and opening Spring 2017.

A brand new gated community called Griffin Park will be in walking distance, which is not too far from the Lake Mary’s shopping district and bike trails. It will have 138 single family and townhomes.

Orlando commercial projects are thriving. There will be many commercial projects that offer more conveniences and experiences to home owners. More home buyers will want to relocate to Orlando and for the benefit from these changes.
