The Lake Nona Medical Center is a 650-acre health and life sciences Park. Located just south of downtown Orlando, the idea was first proposed in 2005 and features over 5,000,000 ft.² of commercial and retail space as well as residential options and a multitude of medical-related businesses and facilities.

Lake Nona, close by, is a 7000-acre master-planned community with nearly 40% reserve for open space, green belts, and lakes. It also includes a 334-acre city Park with over 40 miles of trails, lakes, and waterways.
There are several residential neighborhoods within easy walking to or biking distance including Laureate Park, Ashton Woods, Minto, Village Walk, and Eagle Creek.

Brand-new homes are currently being built or are ready to be built close to Medical City. These homes start at about $300,000 and feature townhouse style, condominiums, or single-family homes. Most of the communities around Medical City require monthly homeowner association fees anywhere from $75-$300 per month depending on the community. Single-family home lots are around 7000 ft.².
Residents are part of the Orange County school district and are served by the Laureate Park elementary school or the Eagle Creek Elementary school, the Lake Nona middle school and the Lake Nona high school. The Cornerstone Academy is about 9 1/2 miles from most homes in Medical City.
