Orange Tree is one of the largest golf communities in Orlando Florida sitting adjacent to the Dr. Phillips high school between Doctor Phillips Blvd., Turkey Lake Road, and just north of Wallace Road. There are several entrances along all three of these roads and the community sits just west of the Universal Orlando resort.

One of the most popular attractions in the town of Dr. Phillips is the prestige golf neighborhoods. There are two spectacular golf courses in Dr. Phillips. The more popular of the two is Bay Hill with its PGA tour golf course but one of the best-kept secrets in golf also resides in Dr. Phillips the Orange Tree Golf Club.
These homes nestled in amongst the golf course, are typically priced from $400,000-$900,000. Many homes sit right on the golf course so if a golf course home is what you’re looking for, this gated community might be ideal. And, because it’s gated, you have the security and comfortability of knowing that anybody in the neighborhood has authority to be there.
Schools
Homeowners in Orange Tree are part of the Orange County school district and are served by the Dr. Phillips elementary school, the Southwest middle school, and the Dr. Phillips high school. These are some of the highest rated schools in the area.

At any given time there are about 10 properties for sale in Orange Tree. The average price of around $430,000 with the highest price pushing close to $900,000. This privately established golf community consists of 180 custom homes with three, four, and five bedroom layouts in sizes from 1200 ft.² to just over 3500 ft.². The property was previously owned by the Dr. Phillips Foundation and was deeded to the Orange Tree Development Corporation in 1978. Homes date back to the mid-1970s and continue through 1993. The most popular homes in the Orange Tree neighborhood are the golf villas, which offer landscaped lawn services.
Orange Tree is home to about 1400 residents and over 90% are homeowners. Residents love this area first walkability, well-maintained lots, peaceful environment, quiet community, security, and gated entrance. Homeowner association fees are approximately $60 per month as of the publishing of this post. Be sure to check with current listings on exact fees and costs involved in this community. Most homes sit on a third to a half acre lot and feature two-car garages, large layouts, and either single or two-story properties.
The Golf Course
Orange Tree Golf Club is one of the most challenging courses if not the most challenging course in Florida. It has been rumored that Tiger Woods will practice at Orange Tree when he is gearing up for a tour. The course is quiet and prestige with many narrow tree-lined greens. The last three holes form a loop around a lake known as “the loop.” Orange Tree was designed by Joe Lee in 1972.
The Orange Tree Country Club also offers many ways to practice and improve your game including putting greens, driving range, and a short game facility. Members can enjoy special events for men, women, and corporate gatherings. The clubhouse has a bar and banquet area that host frequent dining events and is great for weddings. Coming in May 2014 the Orange Tree Country Club will be expanding and offering a junior golf and fitness camp.
The surrounding town of Dr. Phillips is just two minutes away and offers upscale shopping, dining on the famous restaurant row, and some of the best and most sought-after schools in central Florida. Dr. Phillips is also set along the shores of some of the most beautiful sand bottom lakes on the Butler or Windermere Chain of Lakes.
