Edgewood
Edgewood is an affluent community in Orange County just outside of Orlando by Winter Park. Nestled south along Highway 527 and north of Lake Jessamine, Edgewood is home to about 3000 residents and is part of the Orlando, Kissimmee, Sanford Metro area.

Orange Ave., South runs north and south through the middle of Edgewood making commuting easy to Interstate 4, downtown Orlando, or the Orlando International Airport. Although Edgewood is a subdivision or larger community of Orlando and most people consider it a suburb of Winter Park and surrounding areas, it does have its own City Council and government. It maintains its own police department, City Hall, and planning and zoning commissions. The Edgewood District is in the center of the action along Orange Avenue. It offers business, retail, and dining opportunities through our areas major corridors.
The Homes
Edgewood is primarily comprised of larger homes on larger lots dating back to about 2006. Full construction on all homes in Edgewood completed around 2011. Properties are typically between $400,000 and $800,000. Several have waterfront homes along Lake Jessamine, Lake Mary Jess, and Little Lake Conway.

The average home prices between $160,000 and $350,000. The next highest price ranges up to $480,000. Less than 2% of homes are over $1.2 million and less than 5% of homes are under $80,000.
Depending on the micro community, homeowners dues can range anywhere from $25 per month up to $300 per month, however, due to the age of many homes in Edgewood, association dues are nonexistent. There are several gated communities throughout Edgewood, and these will usually carry higher homeowner association dues. Holden Cove and the homes along Lake Miley Dr and Legacy Oaks are gated. Lake Jessamine Apartments, Legacy, and the Woods of Jessamine are also gated or have control access entrances.
Schools
Orange County school districts serve Edgewood and there is one school within the city limits of Edgewood. The Pershing elementary school handles grades prekindergarten through fifth grade and is located at 1800 Pershing Ave.
Schools serving Edgewood include the Pineloch elementary school or the Pine Castle Elementary school, the Judson B Walker or the Memorial middle school, and the William R Boone or the Oak Ridge high school. The Cornerstone Charter Academy for grades kindergarten through 12th grade may also be available as it is less than 2 miles from most homes in Edgewood.
