This suburban city located in Seminole County Florida is home to about 45,000 residents and is in the northern suburb of the Orlando Metro area. The city is part of the Seminole County public school district and is served by five elementary schools, two middle schools, and to public high schools. It also has a Seminole State College of Florida branch and it’s important to note that Altamonte Springs boasts 10% more college graduates per capita than the Florida average and is just minutes from the University of Central Florida and Rollins College.
Altamonte Springs features a lot of parks and recreational facilities as well as a city center, which incorporates large-scale apartment buildings and plant high-rise condominiums. There are several mixed-use shops and retailers as well as a beautiful park area perfect for venues and city holidays. In the future, the city plans to include to high-rise residential structures over 10 stories with a series of parking structures to facilitate and encourage visitors. The Altamonte Mall is a four anchor indoor shopping mall including an 18 screen AMC Theater, shops, and restaurants.
Altamonte Springs is host to several special events including a major fireworks festival around Independence Day, music festivals, Earth Day events, and holiday activities. There are several parks and recreational areas as well as the Lake Brantley Sports Complex with dozens of fields and courts, pools, adult and youth activities.
