With all the Orlando attractions that exist and all the new openings just this year, it is still not enough to keep visitors coming back.
To maintain the rank as a top attraction, parks continue to reinvent themselves. As a result, more Orlando attractions are being built, new rides added, and expansion of theme parks.
Upcoming Orlando Attractions
Animal Kingdom
Avatar, the highest grossing movie, will be opening the World of Avatar in 2017. The attraction effects will be full of bioluminescent trees, floating mountains, and flying banshees. Indoor boat riders are floating on a river through an illuminated forest of Pandora. In the Flight of Passage, you will also be able to fly over Pandora in a ride similar to Soarin.
Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Studios is building two new attractions Toy Story Land and Stars Wars Land. Toy Story Land will be themed after the “Toy Story” movies. Riders will experience “Andy’s Backyard” when they are launched on a coaster between coils of the Slinky Dog. They will also experience the Alien Swirling Saucers. Park goers will enjoy these in 2017.
Star Wars Land is still under construction themed after the Star Wars movie. Guests will be able to experience two attractions. Controlling the Millenium Falcon and getting involved in epic galaxy battle. It will really will be something amazing to see.
Sea World
Be the first to experience the a Virtual Roller Coaster, it will be the first of its kind in Florida. Riders can enjoy Kraken Virtual Reality Roller Coaster in summer of 2017. This one of kind experience will embark on a deep sea mission. See what’s lurking in the sea!
Guests can get up close with the new Dolphin Nursery. Large scale windows, and multiple levels will allow guest to get close to baby dolphins. There will be better access areas for educators and veterinarians to care for animals too.
Universal Studios
Universal Studios has had tremendous growth with recently new and upcoming addtions. Each year attendance increases and now serving almost 19 million annually. Universal Studios most recent project is Volcano Bay Water Park. A 200 foot tall Volcano will feature a waterfall by day and lava flow at night. Set to open 2017 water lovers can enjoy 53 acres Polynesian themed water park. There is rumor of another hotel in the works.
Jimmy Fallon will be taking guest on 3D vitural tour of New Yorsk streets, subways, and skies of Manhattan. Race Through New York ride will open 2017.
Riders will be able to experience fast cars in 2018 on the Fast and Furious ride.
StarFlyer Amusement Ride
International Drive is getting a new StarFlyer ride (Vue at 360) that will be taller than the Orlando Eye. Permitting was just approved for this 450 foot tall ride and is part of an ongoing transformation of International Drive.
