Windsong is one of Winter Park’s oldest and most luxurious communities. The name Windsong originates from Winter Park’s founder Charles Hosmer Morse who purchased 200 acres of land along Lake Mizell, Lake Berry, and Virginia this is the land that makes up the Windsong community. Charles’ daughter Elizabeth later built a glorious Mediterranean estate on the property. A guest hung a bell from a tree branch sparking a trend of many chimes hung from the big oak trees on the property and they would make beautiful music as the wind blew through. The community was then known as Windsong.
